Those who wish to dwell in the pure lands must first wash the forms of the Ten Powers; those who rely from afar on heavenly palaces must first bathe the assembly of the Six Harmonies. This is just as a sound being attuned makes its echo harmonious, and a shape being straight makes its shadow upright; the principle of cause and effect is inevitable, having nothing to do with the conferral of ghosts and spirits. Now, the donors and others, reverently following the King of Physicians, have constructed this bathhouse, prepared the seven articles, and bathed the Three Jewels, encouraging those with karmic affinity and propagating the wondrous scripture. With these supreme and unsurpassed wholesome roots, we first adorn today's Dharma Master So-and-so and others, who possess great power, so that life after life they may constantly turn the wheel of the Dharma and obtain great supernatural powers, and world after world they may constantly cultivate Buddhist services; so that young and old may receive inexhaustible wisdom, and their kinsmen may live out lives without premature death; so that hindrances and entanglements may vanish together with the morning mist, and auspicious celebrations may align with the dense stars. For all the donors, we pray that they may loftily stand upon the āryāṣṭāṅgamārga and advance toward the great way of bodhi; that they may abound in the seven treasures and give endlessly to all living beings. We also pray that those who assisted in the preparations even for a brief moment may eliminate the seven illnesses without remainder; and that those who contributed praise even by a hair's breadth may obtain the seven blessings without exhaustion. May those who see, hear, and rejoice in this all hasten to the citadel of the Dharma; may those who bow their heads and snap their fingers all ascend together to the fruit of Buddhahood. The expounding of the profound teaching is already complete, and the dignified instruments and bathing requisites are all fully arranged. With single mind, the assembly respectfully invites the Three Jewels.
