幽明錄曰。陳相子。吳興烏程人。始見佛家經。遂學昇霞之術。及在人間齋。輒聞空中殊音妙香芬芳清越。
The Youming lu says: 'Chen Xiangzi was a native of Wucheng in Wuxing. When he first saw Buddhist scriptures, he subsequently studied the arts of ascending into the mist. Whenever he observed a fast in the world of men, he would always hear extraordinary sounds and smell wonderful, pure, and soaring fragrance in the sky.'
