至顯慶四年九月。內有山僧智琮慧辯。以解呪術見追入內。語及育王塔事。年歲久遠須假弘護。

In the ninth month of the fourth year of the Xianqing era (659), there were mountain monks, Zhicong and Huibian, who were summoned into the imperial palace because of their knowledge of incantations. When conversation turned to the matter of the King Aśoka stupa, [it was noted that] because the years were distant, it required great protection.
