又問。何故十五年在鷲頭精舍。答曰。初住五年者。欲表諸比丘令觀五陰得證三昧。十年者。欲令解了諸法得百法門。自此隨緣流行諸國。乃至法滅也。

"He asked again: 'For what reason did it remain for fifteen years in the Vihāra on Mount Gṛdhrakūṭa?' They answered, saying: 'The initial five-year stay was intended to symbolize leading the bhikṣus to contemplate the five aggregates and attain realization of samādhi. The ten years were intended to cause them to understand all phenomena and attain the hundred Dharma doors. From that point on, it circulates through various countries according with conditions, until the disappearance of the Dharma.'"
