又智度論云。如有一富貴長者。信樂眾僧。白僧執事。我次第請僧於舍食。日日次請乃至沙彌。執事不聽沙彌受請。諸沙彌言。以何意故不聽沙彌。答言。以檀越不喜請年少故。便說偈言。

Also, the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-śāstra says: As an illustration, there was a wealthy and noble elder who had faith and delight in the assembly of monks. He addressed the saṃgha administrator: 'I invite monks to my house for meals in regular order.' Day by day monks were invited in order, down to the śrāmaṇeras. The administrator would not allow the śrāmaṇeras to accept the invitation. The śrāmaṇeras said: 'For what reason do you not allow the śrāmaṇeras?' He answered: 'Because the dānapati does not like to invite young ones.' Thereupon he spoke a verse:
