5.61

吳越春秋曰。伍子胥見吳王僚。僚望其顏色甚可畏。一丈十圍。眉間一尺。王僚與語三日。辭無復者。胥知王好之。每入言語。偘偘有勇壯之氣。

The Wu Yue chunqiu states: “Wu Zixu had an audience with King Liao of Wu. Liao looked upon his countenance with great awe: he was one zhang tall and ten spans in circumference, with a full chi between his eyebrows. King Liao conversed with him for three days without anyone matching his eloquence. Zixu knew that the king was pleased with him; whenever he entered to speak, he displayed a resolute and manly valor.”
