外國圖曰。僬僥國人長尺六寸。迎風則偃。背風則伏。眉目具足。但野宿。一曰僬僥長三尺。其國草木夏死而冬生。去九疑三萬里。

The Waiguo tu states: “The people of the Jiaoyao country are one chi and six cun tall. Facing into the wind they lean backward; with the wind at their back they fall forward. Their eyebrows and eyes are complete, but they sleep in the wilderness. Another account says the Jiaoyao are three chi tall. In their country the plants die in summer and come to life in winter. It lies thirty thousand li from Mount Jiuyi.”
