57.22

復有一鬼言。我常兩肩有眼。胸有口鼻。常無有頭。何因故爾。目連答言。汝前世時常作魁膾弟子。若殺罪人時。汝常歡喜心以繩著髻挽之。

Another ghost said: 'I constantly have eyes on both shoulders, a mouth and nose on my chest, and never have a head. For what reason is it so?' Maudgalyāyana replied: 'In your past life, you were an executioner's apprentice. Whenever you executed criminals, you joyfully attached a cord to their topknot and pulled it.'
