The Saṃyuktāgama also states: In ancient times there was a king named Jūliè (Kauravya). In his kingdom was a tree named Xiūbōtíhuán. It had a circumference of five hundred and sixty li; its lower roots circled eight hundred and forty li; it was four thousand li high; and its branches spread in four directions circling two thousand li. The tree bore five kinds of fruit, and the path [around it] had five sides. One side was eaten together by the king and the concubines and entertainers of the inner palace. The second side was eaten together by the ministers and hundreds of officials. The third side was eaten together by the common people. The fourth side was eaten together by the Śākyan recluses. The fifth side was eaten together by flying birds and beasts. Its fruits were as large as one-sheng jugs, and their flavor was sweet like honey. There was no guard, yet none encroached upon another's share of the fruit. At that time, human lifespan was eighty-four thousand years. There were nine kinds of illness: first, cold; second, heat; third, hunger; fourth, thirst; fifth, defecation; sixth, urination; seventh, craving and desire; eighth, eating to excess; and ninth, old age. Women only married at five hundred years of age (this is the same as the time when Maitreya Buddha appears in the world).
