63.79

又正法念經云。若有眾生持戒離於邪見。見人斫伐鬼神大樹夜叉羅剎之所依止。其人擁護令不斫伐。此諸鬼神不惱害人。依樹受樂。無樹則苦。此人命終生歡喜天。與眾天女歡娛受樂。從天命終。若得人身安隱巨富。

The Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna-sūtra also states: If there are sentient beings who keep the precepts and are free from wrong views, and they see someone felling a great spirit tree that is relied upon by yakṣas and rākṣasas, and that person protects it so that it is not chopped down, these spirits and deities will not torment or harm people. Relying on the tree, they experience pleasure; without the tree, they suffer. When this person's life ends, they will be born in the Joyous Heaven, experiencing pleasure in amusement with the company of celestial maidens. When their life in heaven ends, if they obtain a human body, they will enjoy peace, security, and immense wealth.
