含識皆畏死　有命懼嶮危
如魚困池涸　難逢流水湄
親疏皆父母　何得輒相欺
慈悲救厄苦　福報自然隨

All conscious beings dread death; / Those with life fear peril and danger. / Like fish stranded as the pond dries up, / Scarcely reaching the edge of flowing water. / Close and distant alike have parents; / How can one lightly oppress them? / With compassion rescue those in distress, / And blessed retribution will naturally follow.
