67.30

第八復有眾生。常在鑊湯中為牛頭阿傍以三股鐵叉。叉人內著鑊湯中煮之令爛。還復吹活而復煮之。何罪所致。佛言。以前世時信邪倒見。祠祀鬼神屠殺眾生。湯灌搣毛鑊湯煎煮。不可限量。故獲斯罪。

Eighth, there are also sentient beings who are constantly in caldrons of boiling water, where ox-headed demons use three-pronged iron forks to impale them and toss them into the boiling water, cooking them until putrefied; then they are blown back to life and boiled again. What transgression caused this? The Buddha said: In their past lives, they believed in heterodox and inverted views, offered sacrifices to ghosts and spirits, slaughtered sentient beings, scalded them with boiling water to pluck their hair, and fried and boiled them in caldrons beyond measure. Therefore, they incurred this retribution.
