67.31

第九復有眾生。常在火城中煻煨齊心四門俱開。若欲趣門。門即閉之。東西馳走不能自免。為火燒盡何罪所致。佛言。以前世時坐焚燒山澤火煨雞子燒煮眾生爛身皮剝。故獲斯罪。

Ninth, there are also sentient beings who are constantly in a fiery city of hot ashes reaching to their chests, with all four gates open. Whenever they attempt to head towards a gate, the gate immediately shuts. Running east and west, they cannot escape, and are completely incinerated by the fire. What transgression caused this? The Buddha said: In their past lives, they set fire to mountains and marshes, roasted bird eggs in ashes, and burned and boiled sentient beings, peeling their skin and causing their bodies to rot. Therefore, they incurred this retribution.
