問曰。云何遠離綺語者。答曰。綺語有七種。一依不善意。二無義。三非時。四惡法相應。五作。六不作相。七無作相。

Question: How does one stay far away from frivolous speech? Answer: Frivolous speech has seven aspects: first, relying on an unwholesome intention; second, lacking benefit; third, being at the wrong time; fourth, being associated with unwholesome phenomena; fifth, action; sixth, the characteristic of inaction; seventh, the characteristic of non-action.
