There are further five things through which, wherever born, one constantly meets the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Saṃgha, never erring or falling away; seeing the Buddha and hearing the Dharma, one immediately attains a good mind; and if becoming a śramaṇa, one immediately attains what one wishes. What are the five? First, personally serving the Three Jewels and encouraging others to serve them. Second, making Buddha images and ensuring they are fresh and clean. Third, constantly obeying the Buddha's teachings, not violating what one has undertaken. Fourth, universal loving-kindness toward all, regarding them as equal to the Honoured One, just like cherishing a newborn infant. Fifth, reciting and intoning the received sūtra teachings day and night. These are the five things through which, wherever born, one constantly meets the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Saṃgha, never erring or falling away; seeing the Buddha and hearing the Dharma, one immediately attains a good mind; and if becoming a śramaṇa, one immediately attains what one wishes."
