Furthermore, because of divisive speech, one's words are always coarse and harsh. Because of harsh speech in the present life, one incites strife and harm, mutual attack, and slaughters various sentient beings. Upon death, one will fall into the Hell of Weapons, undergoing various pains and afflictions for distant kalpas. Once this suffering has ended, one falls among animals, having one's legs pulled off, shoulders sold, thighs handed over, and shoulder blades destroyed, undergoing various pains and afflictions for distant kalpas. Once this suffering has ended, within this state one undergoes immeasurable births and deaths. By the original cause, if one encounters slight goodness, one may barely regain a human body, but with the four limbs incomplete, castrated, having feet amputated, tattooed, or having one's nose cut off, one's physical form mutilated, unshielded by spirits, and despised and discarded by people. One should know that mutilating and harming sentient beings is entirely due to harsh speech.
