75.18

又增一阿含經云。寧以火燒鐵錐而刺于眼。不以視色興起亂想。又正法念經云。女人之性心多嫉妬。以是因緣。女人死後多生餓鬼趣中。雖有美言心如毒害。強知虛詐能惑世間。

Furthermore, the Ekottarika-āgama says: 'Better to pierce the eyes with an iron awl heated by fire than to look upon form and give rise to disordered thoughts.' Furthermore, the Saddharmasmṛtyupasthāna-sūtra says: 'The nature of women is mostly jealous in mind. Because of this cause, after death women are mostly born into the destiny of hungry ghosts. Though they have sweet words, their minds are poisonous and harmful; their strong cleverness in falsehood and deceit can bewilder the world.'
