75.60

惟夫稟形人世。逢斯穢濁之時。受質偽身。常作虛妄之境。所以妄想虛搆。惑倒交懷。違心背境。出語皆虛。誑惑前人。令他妄解。致使萬苦爭纏。百憂總萃。種虛妄之因。感得輕賤之報。地獄重苦更加湯炭。迷法亂真寔由妄語也。

Indeed, receiving form in the human world, one encounters this defiled and turbid age; obtaining a constitution in a counterfeit body, one constantly generates empty and false realms. Therefore, false thoughts construct illusions, and delusions intertwine in the mind. Opposing one's heart and betraying reality, one's spoken words are all empty, deceiving the person before oneself and causing others to generate false understandings. This brings about the contending entanglement of myriad sufferings and the collective gathering of a hundred sorrows. Planting the cause of falsehood, one sympathetically resonates with the retribution of being despised and lowly; receiving heavy suffering in hell, one is further subjected to boiling cauldrons and burning charcoal. Bewildering the Dharma and throwing reality into chaos truly stems from false speech.
