依佛本行經云。爾時護明菩薩冬分過已。至於最勝春初之時。一切樹木諸華開敷。天氣澄清溫涼調適百草新出。滑澤和柔滋茂光鮮遍滿於地。正取鬼宿星合之時。為彼諸天說於法要悉令歡喜。時淨居天告彼一切諸天大眾言。汝等今見護明菩薩欲下生時莫生憂惱。何以故。彼下生時。必定當得成阿耨菩提。成已還來至此天宮。為汝說法猶如往昔毘婆尸佛乃至迦葉佛等。皆從此去還來到此。為汝說法如前無異。

According to the Abhiniṣkramaṇa-sūtra, at that time the winter season having passed for the Bodhisattva Prabhāpāla, when the most supreme beginning of spring arrived, all the trees and various flowers bloomed. The weather was clear, mild, and well balanced; all the grasses newly sprouted, smooth, soft, lush, and luminous, covering the ground completely. Exactly taking the time when the stars of the constellation Puṣya were in conjunction, he preached the essentials of the Dharma for those gods, causing them all to rejoice. At that time the Śuddhāvāsa gods addressed all that great assembly of devas, saying: "Do not give rise to grief or distress now upon seeing Bodhisattva Prabhāpāla about to descend to be born! Why is this? When he descends to be born, he is bound to attain anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi; having attained it, he will return to this heavenly palace to preach the Dharma for you, just as in the past Vipaśyin Buddha down to Kāśyapa Buddha and the others all departed from here and returned here to preach the Dharma for you without any difference from before."
