8.82

不殺是佛種　慈心為良藥
大慈常安隱　終無老死異
一切受身者　畏殺毒害人
是故諸菩薩　教我不殺戒
汝今若畏死　常行不殺事
云何欲還國　捨靜求憒鬧

'Not killing is the seed of buddhahood; / a compassionate mind is the good medicine. / Great compassion is ever tranquil and safe; / in the end it is free from the variations of old age and death. / All who have received a physical form / fear those who kill and do harm. / Therefore all bodhisattvas / teach me the precept of non-killing. / If you now fear death, / you should constantly practice non-killing. / Why would you wish to return to your realms, / abandoning stillness to seek agitation?'
