81.58

又大寶積經云。樂施之人獲五種名利。一常得親近一切賢聖。二一切眾生之所樂見。三入大眾時人所宗敬。四好名善譽流聞十方。五能為菩提作上妙因。

Furthermore, the Mahāratnakūṭa-sūtra says: A person who delights in giving obtains five kinds of renown and benefit: first, constantly being able to draw near to all the worthy and noble ones; second, being delighted in by all sentient beings; third, being venerated and respected by others when entering a great assembly; fourth, their good name and excellent reputation spreading and being heard in the ten directions; fifth, being able to create a superior and wonderful cause for bodhi.
