82.34

菩薩往昔時　捨身以貿鴿
我亦作是意　捨命欲代鵝
我得最勝心　欲全此鵝命
久住常安樂　由汝殺鵝故
心願不滿足

"In ancient times, the Bodhisattva / gave up his body to ransom a dove; / I also had this intention, / wishing to give up my life to take the place of the goose. / I attained the supreme mind, / desiring to preserve the life of this goose, / that it might long abide in constant peace and happiness; / but because you killed the goose, / the wish of my mind was not fulfilled."
