83.17

如持世經云。寶光菩薩於閻浮檀金佛所發於精進。但為入如是法方便門。二十億歲終不生惡心。若利養心。又寶光菩薩如是精進十二億歲。未曾發起婬怒癡心。又無量意菩薩無量力菩薩。於四萬歲中終不睡眠。常不滿腹食。亦不臥若坐若經行。但念五取陰相。

As the Sūtra of Dhāraṇīśvara-rāja says: Bodhisattva Ratnaprabha generated vigor in the presence of the Buddha Jambūnadaprabhāsa merely to enter such expedient gates of the Dharma; for two billion years, an evil thought or a thought of personal gain never arose in him. Moreover, Bodhisattva Ratnaprabha was vigorous in this way for 1.2 billion years, during which thoughts of lust, anger, or ignorance never once arose. Moreover, Bodhisattva Anantamati and Bodhisattva Anantavīrya did not sleep at all for forty thousand years, never ate their fill, and neither lay down, sat, nor walked back and forth, but solely contemplated the characteristics of the five aggregates of grasping.
