又涅槃經云。佛言。大王。波羅柰國有屠兒。名曰廣額。於日日中殺無量羊。見舍利弗即受八戒經一日夜。以是因緣命終得為北方天王毘沙門子。如來弟子尚有如是大功德果。況復佛也。

Furthermore, the Nirvāṇa-sūtra states: The Buddha said, "Great King, in the country of Vārāṇasī there was a butcher named Guang'e (Broad-forehead) who daily slaughtered countless sheep. Upon seeing Śāriputra, he immediately received the eight precepts for one day and one night. Because of this causal condition, at the end of his life he was born as a son of Vaiśravaṇa, Heavenly King of the North. If a disciple of the Tathāgata can produce such a great meritorious fruit, how much more so the Buddha!"
