Furthermore, when the Bodhisattva was first born from the right side, the Four Heavenly Kings held the Bodhisattva in their arms, brought him before his mother, and showed him to her, saying: “Great Queen of the world, you may now rejoice! The Queen has given birth to a son who has obtained a human body; even the devas rejoice and praise him, how much more so humans!” This was an unprecedented phenomenon of the Bodhisattva. It symbolizes that after achieving buddhahood, countless members of the fourfold assembly would go to the Tathāgata to hear and receive the Dharma, following the Tathāgata's teachings without disobeying or opposing them. Furthermore, after being born, the Bodhisattva stood on the ground, looked up at his mother's right side, and spoke these words: “From this day forward, I shall never receive this physical form again; I shall not enter the womb or lie in a mother’s side. This is my final body. I shall become a Buddha.” This was an unprecedented phenomenon of the Bodhisattva. It symbolizes that after achieving buddhahood, he spoke these words: “My cycle of rebirths has been entirely exhausted; the brahmacarya has been established; what was to be done has been accomplished; I shall receive no further existence.” This was an auspicious sign prior [to the buddhahood] of the Tathāgata.
