汝見廁井者。是地獄人。迦葉佛時。是出家人。住寺比丘。佛僧淨地大小便利。不擇處所。持律比丘如法呵責。不受教誨。糞氣臭穢熏諸眾僧。故入地獄。作肉廁井火燒受苦。至今不息。

The latrine pit you saw is a denizen of hell. In the time of Kāśyapa Buddha, he was a monastic living in a monastery. He relieved himself, defecating and urinating upon the pure grounds of the Buddha and the sangha, showing no care for the place. When vinaya-holding monks admonished him in accordance with the Dharma, he would not accept their instruction. The foul stench of the feces fumigated the whole assembly of monks. Therefore, he entered hell, where he became a flesh latrine pit burned by fire, suffering pain without respite even to this day.
