又新婆沙論云。如契經。尊者舍利子於憍薩羅國住一林中。時有活命出家外道。亦住彼林。隣近尊者。去林不遠。諸村邑中有時廣設四月節會。時彼外道巡諸村邑。飽食猪肉恣情飲酒。竊持殘者還至林中。見舍利子坐一樹下。酒所昏故起輕蔑心。我今與彼雖俱出家。我獨富樂而彼貧苦。尋趣尊者。作是頌曰。

Furthermore, the *New Vibhāṣā* states: 'As the sūtra says: The Venerable Śāriputra was dwelling in a forest in the country of Kosala. At that time, an Ājīvika non-Buddhist renunciant was also living in that forest, neighboring the Venerable One. Not far from the forest, in the various villages and towns, a four-month festival gathering was occasionally held on a grand scale. At that time, that non-Buddhist went around the villages and towns, gorging himself on pork and indulging freely in drinking liquor. He secretly carried what remained back to the forest. Seeing Śāriputra sitting beneath a tree, being confused by the liquor, he gave rise to contempt: "Now, although he and I have both gone forth, I alone am rich and happy, while he is poor and suffering." He immediately approached the Venerable One and spoke this verse:
