俱舍論云。若人正死。於何身分中意識斷滅。若一時身死根共意識一時俱滅。若人次第死。此中偈曰。
The Abhidharmakośa-śāstra states: When a person is dying, in which part of the body does the mental consciousness cease? If one dies all at once, the physical faculties and the mental consciousness are extinguished together at the same time. If a person dies gradually, the verse here says:
