98.31

爾時諸比丘同聲白佛言。我於今朝入城乞食。還所居方各洗應量器。同時皆破。各分五段。方欲問佛。向聞世尊已說未來表法將滅心生大悑。

At that time, all the bhikṣus said with one voice to the Buddha: "This morning, when we entered the city to beg for food and returned to our quarters to wash our respective vessels of measured capacity, they all broke at the same time, each dividing into five pieces. We were just about to ask the Buddha about this, and having just heard the World-Honoured One explain the sign of the impending disappearance of the Dharma in the future, great terror has arisen in our hearts."
