"Fourth vow: May it be that when I become a Buddha, my name shall be heard throughout the eight directions, above and below, in countless Buddha-lands. May all Buddhas each speak of my merits and the excellence of my land amidst the great seats of the Saṃgha of monks. May all devas, humans, and flying and creeping wriggling creatures, hearing my name, none fail to rejoice with compassionate hearts and leap with joy, and all be caused to come and be born in my land. If I obtain this vow, only then will I become a Buddha; if I do not obtain this vow, I will never become a Buddha.
