The twenty-fourth vow: May it be that when I become a Buddha, the light atop my crown will be exceedingly wondrous, surpassing the light of the sun and moon by hundreds of thousands of myriads of koṭis of times, and incomparably surpassing the blazing radiance of all Buddhas, shining across innumerable [realms]. All dark places in the world shall be brightly illuminated. Of the kinds of heavenly beings, humans, and creeping, flying, and wriggling creatures, none who see my light shall fail to develop a compassionate mind and perform good deeds, and all shall be caused to be born in my land. Only when this vow is attained will I become a Buddha; if this vow is not attained, I shall never become a Buddha.
