Chisongzi was the Master of Rain in the time of Shennong. He consumed liquid jade to instruct Shennong, and could enter fire and burn himself. When he reached the Kunlun Mountains, he often entered the stone chamber of the Queen Mother of the West, ascending and descending with the wind and rain. The younger daughter of the Yan Emperor pursued him and was also able to depart with him. By the time of Gaoxin, he became the Master of Rain again. The Rain Masters of today originate from him.
