Regarding the eleventh intermediate existence: When the evil karma of hungry ghosts is exhausted, they receive the remaining wholesome karma. The wholesome karma previously performed in other realms is like their parents; when they are about to be reborn in heaven, signs appear. If one dies among the hungry ghosts and is about to be reborn in heaven, while among the hungry ghosts hunger and thirst burn their body, and they constantly crave food and drink and constantly yearn for liquids; yet when they are about to die, these thoughts no longer arise. Their former cravings are all extinguished, and no evil karma approaches them. Although they see food and drink, they only look with their eyes as a person sees in a dream, neither eating nor drinking. Seeing the delightful heavens, they run towards them, and upon arriving there, they are instantly reborn in heaven. This is called the eleventh intermediate existence.
