72.71

Distant is the city of King Desire; / lofty, the delight of Vulture Peak.
Karmic fetters form the prison of the tridhātu; / the sharp and dull, the neck-stocks of the ten drives.
Turbid evil follows the lower destinies; / severing out-flows ascends to the highest summit.
Attached to self, one savours bitter retributions; / terrified by elephants, one leaps into the mound's dry well.
Aspiring high, one admires the transformed multitude; / thought after thought, one removes the goitre of the mind.
Past blessings allow an encounter with Śākyamuni; / with noble yearning, one emulates the foremost of Great Rṣis.
Having broken the fetters of ignorance, / one awakens equally to the true and correct;
Cherishing it in heart, serene in tranquil mind, / wherever one rests, there is nothing that is not calm.
