Grieving that from beginningless time I followed my own mind,
Flowed along into the stream of desire, falling into whirls and eddies;
Therein solitary without refuge or protection,
Fully creating boundless hundreds of sufferings.
All the sufferings received are fixed in time and retribution;
The spiritual power of all Buddhas cannot save me.
When cornered and exhausted, and bitter retributions arrive,
Only then does this single thought of awakening appear.
Because the cataract of ignorance is thick,
The fires of the three poisons constantly blaze;
Wishing to leave them behind yet unable to do so,
Like a ripened abscess awaiting the time to be lanced.
I only pray that all Buddhas radiate rays of compassion,
From time to time illuminating those in extreme suffering.
Sins of the three karmas committed in the past,
As well as all evils currently arising,
And all afflictions that should arise in the future:
Bowing my head in repentance, I vow they be eradicated.
