I privately reflect upon the wholesome roots I have cultivated, such as giving; / They all flow from the dharmadhātu and are the practice of the Buddhas. / Considering that I am foolish and base, and should always be submerged in evils, / How is it that as my years draw toward dusk, I have been able to arouse the mind of giving and so forth? / Rejoicing in what has rarely been attained, I leap with boundless joy. / Because I see sentient beings cultivating the good of ordinary people, / Even for the span of a single finger-snap, my mind rejoices in it all. / How much more so when the great bodhisattvas accomplish the pāramitās / And fulfill the paths of the stages—how could I not admire them with joy? / Therefore, rejoicing and delighting, I bow my head to all the storehouses of Dharma.
