Furthermore, the Fo zang jing says: 'Having succeeded in leaving home and calling themselves śramaṇas, they are unable to endure the real teachings of the Buddha. Within this Dharma, they cannot cultivate their minds and do not attain its flavor; shaking their hands, they depart and fall into the evil destinies, just like a suckling pig leaving the bedding. A bhikṣu who breaks the precepts must, for hundreds of thousands of koṭis of kalpas, have the flesh of his body sliced away to repay the donors. If born as an animal, his body will constantly bear heavy burdens. Why is this? Just as dividing a single hair into a hundred billion parts, a precept-breaking bhikṣu cannot even consume a single part of an offering, much less consume the clothing, food, drink, bedding, and medicine of others. Such persons as these, having left home within my Dharma to seek the Way, instead incur heavy guilt. Śāriputra, such persons as these are rebels within my Dharma, are thieves of the Dharma, and are deceitful and fraudulent people. Merely seeking a livelihood and heavily greedy for clothing and food, they are called the slaves of worldly pleasures.'
