Furthermore, the Sūtra on the Samādhi of Pure Deliverance says: When people perform good or evil karma and are reborn in heaven or fall into hell, they each have beings who come to welcome them at the time of their death. When sick and about to die, their own eyes see them coming to welcome them. Those who are to be reborn in heaven see heavenly beings coming to welcome them with heavenly garments, music, and dance. Those who are to be reborn in another direction see venerable persons speaking wondrous words to them. If, having done evil, they are to fall into hell, their eyes see soldiers bearing swords, shields, spears, halberds, and cords surrounding them. What they see is different, and their mouths cannot speak; each receives retribution according to what they have done. Heaven is free of wrongful injustice and is level, upright, and without partiality; according to what has been done, the heavenly net regulates them.
