10.76

我為自全濟　為隨佛語勝
無量功德聚　名稱遍十方
軀命極鄙賤　云何違聖教
我今受佛戒　至死必堅持
為順佛語故　奉板遺身命
若不為難事　終不獲難果
若捨佛所教　失於天人利
及以大涅槃　無上第一樂

"Is it better to preserve myself, / Or to follow the Buddha's words? / The mass of immeasurable merit / Has a reputation pervading the ten directions. / My physical body and life are utterly base; / How could I go against the sacred teaching? / Having now received the Buddha's precepts, / I will firmly uphold them until death. / In order to follow the Buddha's words, / I offer the plank and surrender my physical life. / If one does not undertake what is difficult, / One will never attain the difficult-to-reach fruit. / If one abandons what the Buddha taught, / One loses the benefits of devas and humans, / As well as great nirvāṇa, / The unsurpassed, supreme bliss."
