是諸比丘為苦所逼。不得屈伸及以轉動。恐傷草命。唯當護戒至死不犯。即說偈言。
These monks, oppressed by suffering, could not bend, stretch, or move about, for fear of harming the life of the grass; they resolved solely to guard the precepts until death without violating them. They then spoke a verse:
