13.45

福業如果熟　不以神祀得
人乘持戒車　後得至天上
定知如燈滅　得至於無為
一切由行得　求天何所為

'Meritorious karma is like the ripening of fruit;
It cannot be obtained through sacrifices to spirits.
A person riding the chariot of keeping the precepts
Will afterward arrive in heaven.
Knowing with certainty that [samsāra] is like a lamp extinguishing,
One reaches the unconditioned.
Everything is attained through action;
What is the use of supplicating the heavens?'
