13.52

復有一鬼。白目連言。常有二熱鐵輪。在我兩腋下。轉身體燋爛。何因緣故爾。目連答言。汝前世時。與眾僧作餅。盜取二番。挾兩腋底。是故受如此罪。此是花報。後方受地獄苦果。

Again, a ghost said to Maudgalyāyana: "There are constantly two red-hot iron wheels under my two armpits; they spin, scorching and rotting my body. For what cause and condition is it so?" Maudgalyāyana replied, saying: "In your previous life, you made cakes for the saṃgha, and you stole two of them, tucking them under your armpits. Therefore, you receive such punishment. This is the flower retribution; afterwards you will receive the bitter fruit of the hells."
