18.35

又如鉢頭摩地獄中火焰熾盛。罪人去此火一百由旬。火已燒炙。若去六十由旬。罪人兩耳已聾無所聞知。若去火五十由旬。其罪人兩目已盲。無所復見。如瞿波利比丘已懷惡心謗舍利弗。目揵連身壞命終。墮此鉢頭摩地獄中。

Furthermore, just as the flames rage furiously in the Padma Hell: when a sinner is still a hundred yojanas away from this fire, the fire already scorches them; if they are sixty yojanas away, both ears of the sinner are already deaf and can hear nothing; if they are fifty yojanas away, both eyes of the sinner are already blind and can see nothing more. Just as the bhikṣu Kokālika harbored an evil mind and slandered Śāriputra and Maudgalyāyana, and when his body broke up at the end of life, he fell into this Padma Hell.
