4.42

又梵摩喻經云。如來說法聲有八種。一最好聲。二易了聲。三柔軟聲。四和調聲。五尊慧聲。六不誤聲。七深妙聲。八不女聲。言不漏闕。無得其短者。

Furthermore, the Brahmāyu-sūtra says: When the Tathāgata expounds the Dharma, his voice has eight qualities: 1. the best sound; 2. an easily understood sound; 3. a soft sound; 4. a harmonious sound; 5. a venerable and wise sound; 6. a sound without error; 7. a deep and wondrous sound; 8. a non-feminine sound. His speech has neither omission nor deficiency, and none can find fault with it.
