4.50

憐愍世間大醫王　身及智慧俱寂靜
無我法中有真我　是故敬禮無上尊
發心畢竟二不別　如是二心先心難
自未得度先度他　是故我禮初發心

'Compassionate to the world, the Great Physician King,
His body and wisdom are both quiescent.
Within the teachings of non-self there is the true Self;
Therefore I pay homage to the Unexcelled Honoured One.
Generating the [aspiration] and ultimate [attainment] are not distinct in these two;
Yet between these two minds, the first mind is difficult.
Not yet having crossed over oneself, one first delivers others;
Therefore I pay homage to the initial generation of the mind.'
