5.16

東方者。即是父母。若有人能供養父母。衣服飲食。臥具湯藥。房舍財寶。恭敬禮拜。讚歎尊重。是人則能供養東方父母。是父母還以五事報之。一至心憂念。二終不欺誑。三捨財與之。四為娉上族。五教以世事。

"The eastern direction represents one's parents. If a person can make offerings to parents with clothing, food and drink, bedding, medicines, dwellings, and wealth and treasures, revering, bowing down to, praising, and honouring them, this person can make offerings to the parents of the eastern direction. These parents will in turn recompense them with five things: first, caring for them with utmost devotion; second, never deceiving them; third, relinquishing wealth and giving it to them; fourth, arranging marriage into a superior clan; and fifth, instructing them in worldly affairs."
