5.43

鬢髮白如雪　秀眉垂覆眼
皮皺如波浪　其脊曲如弓
兩手負杖行　次第而受請
舉身皆振掉　行止不自安
譬如白楊樹　隨風而動搖
檀越見此輩　歡喜延入坐
坐已須臾頃　還復年少形
檀越驚怖言　如是耆老相
還變成小身　如服還年藥
是事何由然

"Temples and hair white as snow, / Long eyebrows drooping and covering their eyes, / Skin wrinkled like waves, / Their backs bent like bows. / Holding walking sticks in both hands, / They received the invitation in sequence, / Their whole bodies shaking and trembling, / Unsteady in their walking and standing, / Just like white poplar trees / Swaying with the wind. / Seeing these men, the dānapati / Joyfully invited them to enter and sit. / After they had been seated for a short while, / They returned to their youthful forms. / The dānapati said in astonishment and fear: / 'Such signs of advanced age / Have changed back into youthful bodies, / As if having taken an elixir of youth! / How has this come about?'"
