7.24

又阿含口。解十二因緣經云。有阿羅漢。以天眼徹視。見女人墮地獄中者甚多。便問佛。何以故。佛言。用四因緣故。一由貪珍寶物衣被欲心多故。二由相嫉妬故。三由多口舌故。四由作姿態婬意多故。以是因緣墮獄多耳。

Furthermore, the *Sūtra Explaining the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination in the Āgama* states: An arhat, seeing clearly with the divine eye, saw that those falling into hell were mostly women. He asked the Buddha: “For what reason is this?” The Buddha said: “It is due to four conditions: first, because they have much desire and craving for precious jewels, objects, and clothing; second, because of mutual jealousy; third, because of much gossiping; fourth, because of putting on coquettish postures and having much lustful intent. Due to these conditions, many fall into hell.”
