12.83

The third intermediate state: If one dies in Jambudvīpa and is born in Godānīya, signs appear. When approaching death, one sees houses all becoming yellow, like golden color completely covering like clouds. One sees in the void the sign of yellow fine wool, and raises hands to catch it; relatives and brothers say that the sick person's two hands are catching at the void. At that time, this person's wholesome [karma] is about to be exhausted. They see their body like an ox and see herds of cattle, like what is seen in a dream. If born as a male, he sees his parents uniting and practicing impurity, and sees his own human body having many houses. He sees his father's appearance like a bull, removes his father, and unites with his mother. If born as a female, she sees her own body like a cow, and has this thought: 'Why does the bull unite with her and not face me?' Having thought this, she receives a female body. This is called the third intermediate state of being born in Godānīya.
