13.32

Second: having a strong and robust body, full and vigorous marrow, matchless walking, eating and drinking at will, adorning head and face, regarding oneself as without equal; drawing bows and nocking arrows, grasping weapons, inflicting harm without examining right or wrong, hurling curses from the mouth, regarding oneself as mighty, calculating that one's self is free from decline. Suddenly illness arrives, laying him low in bed, unable to move, his body aching as if beaten; ears, nose, mouth, and eyes do not perceive sounds, scents, fine flavors, or smooth textures; sitting and rising require assistance; impurities flow out on their own, and his body lies upon them, his manifold afflictions beyond description. Even if one wishes to be exempt, remaining constantly secure and free from illness, it is utterly impossible.
